Military Testimonials
We love the military families that God brings our way! They add so much to our congregation and it’s a privilege to serve them.
BillingsAs a military family, it can be difficult to plug into a church family. For us, this is because our schedules are full and we move around so often. After moving to Sumter and searching months for the right church, we finally found Harmony Church. Even through our busy schedules and unexpected deployments and moves, the members of this church have been loving, supporting, available. They are a true family! Harmony Church is a place we feel at home and when the time comes to leave, it won't be easy.
WisnewskisFor our family, the worst part of every PCS is having to leave a church home and find another. We had visited several churches in Sumter and were starting to become discouraged when we tried Harmony on the advice of a friend who once lived here. We were glad to see the friendliness of the congregation, but were struck by their joyous singing in the service. Immediately we found Pastor Dan's preaching to be such a comfort. It is aways scripture-based, confronting while also encouraging -- always relevant to this Christian life. Our children also came out of their connection groups able to communicate the Biblical precepts they had learned, while we found our class to be digging deep into the nuts and bolts of the Gospel. We knew from our first visit that the Holy Spirit is blessing Harmony, and here is where we need to be.

VarnsonsWhen we first moved to Sumter in the summer of 2019, we began looking for a church home. Harmony was the first (and last) place we visited. From the very beginning, we felt right at home. Everyone was extremely friendly and made it easy to get plugged in. After a few months, we got involved with a connection group and started volunteering with the youth program and have loved every minute of it! If you’re looking for a loving church family who will welcome you and challenge you to grow spiritually, Harmony is the place for you!
KopilowHarmony felt like home on the very first Sunday, and I didn’t know a soul in the service I showed up for. I was welcomed by warm, loving families. I was away from the base but not away from anyone who felt like brothers and sisters, and it was just what I needed as a young airman. The members at Harmony got to know me well enough that by the time I married my fiancé and moved her across the country to Sumter, she felt right at home because they all knew of her and welcomed her just the same as they would do for me. Harmony makes Sumter and Shaw AFB feel like home.
