Military Testimonials
We love the military families that God brings our way! They add so much to our congregation and it’s a privilege to serve them.
The Tysars Being a military family you generally understand that actually fitting in with a new church family is very hard. Especially in small towns with mature churches. Harmony is very different in this aspect. Our very first Sunday we were welcomed in with very friendly open arms. It didn’t take long for us to find a place in this church family. Our son has special needs and so many people stood up and accepted him and work with him and love him. We both have a place to serve and we appreciate the way Pastors Dan and Del preach God's word without adding or subtracting from biblical truth. If God allows we will continue with Harmony for many more years.
The AzzopardisHarmony for us was the first church we felt really connected to and part of a family. The first Sunday we visited in 2023 I was pregnant with our first son and this was our first PCS.
We were completely new to SC and we didn't know anyone. We found Harmony's website searching for a local church in the area and came across their military page and did some research and we decided to give Harmony a try. Right away we were greeted with friendly faces and felt very welcomed. It didn't take long to decide to make Harmony our church family. Being in my 3rd trimester and my husband and I trying to find a place to live while waiting for housing was very stressful. We had a need and Harmony supported and gave resources and help to two people they didn't even know. They saw a need and jumped in. That was really when we decided Harmony was right for us. We never experienced a church that went out of their way to help two strangers they didn't even know. Now we are so happy to call Harmony our family! |
The ShecutsI started going to Harmony while Andre was deployed 3 years ago. He was gone for 6 months and I was looking for a new church family. I had attended another church previously, but I wasn't satisfied because I wanted more in depth sermons with the word of God. My friend Jen had attended the other church with me and then she invited me to Harmony after attending for a week and then after I came, I really enjoyed the service, and the community. People were welcoming me, inviting me to sit with them and to join a connection group, and Pastor Dan introduced himself to me when he saw me. It was very welcoming and I called my husband that night and let him know that I wanted him to come to church with me at Harmony. Then when my husband, Andre, arrived back home from his deployment, he came to service with me.
He'd only attended a couple services, but we found out about the Living in Harmony lunch and we decided to become members of the church. We've been part of a connection group and have been members at Harmony ever since. We are both so grateful and after we welcomed our daughter Ava to the church, we dedicated her and Ava seems to love the church too. We love our church family and we are so happy we found out about Harmony. BraedynWhen I first arrived in Sumter, I wanted a car to get around on base and explore the city. Mr. Glenn and Mrs. Anna from Harmony were the ones who answered my call, sold me a car, and even invited me to join them for church on Easter Sunday. From that day forward, I've been attending church regularly, always sitting with them. They, along with many others in the congregation, have been incredibly supportive and welcoming, and I couldn't be more grateful for the kindness I've found here.
