Operation Christmas Child Head Quarters Packaging
On Monday, November 25, HSM is going to Charlotte, NC to the packaging facility to work a shift at Operation Christmas Child. The work shift is from 1-5 that day. We will go together in the vans or other vehicles if need be that day and then come home that night. The address of the packaging facility is 7100 Forest Point Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28217
We want all students to be able to attend and serve. Unfortunately, any one attending and working has to be 13 years old or older. Parents your student can not come and particpate unless they are 13 years old.
In the packing facility we will be doing all sorts of jobs, from repacking boxes to making sure everything is good to send, or lifting and moving bigger boxes. There is a role for everyone no matter your strengths or weaknesses!
You will have to register yourself and or your student through the link below. The deadline to register you and your student is November 13th. You can still register after this date but we are going to open it up to Harmony to register and the 30 spots might be taken.
Departure and Arrival Times
On Monday November 25th arrive at church at 9:45am. We want to plan time for possible traffic and its better to be early instead of being late. The shift ends at 5 and we will grab dinner at Culivers and will be on the road and home sometime between 8pm-9pm that night.
What to Bring?
Each person will need to bring a bag lunch something to eat on the way up before the shift at 1pm. After the shift we are going to eat at Culivers. Bring $10 for dinner.
What to wear?
According to their website they say "Our processing centers are set up in warehouses, so please make proper provisions to be comfortably and appropriately dressed for this environment. It is best to be prepared with closed-toe shoes appropriate for standing for long periods, and warm, layered, casual clothes as the temperature inside can vary. Breaks are available as needed."
