Stop and look at yourself right now. Are you sitting down reading this on your computer or on your phone? Think about the fact that as you are sitting, the earth, is spinning 1,000 miles an hour around an enormous ball of fire that defines our very waking hours. Now that you have this picture in your head, do you feel like your spinning around? No of course not. You don’t feel anything because the earth spins steadily and moves at a constant rate in orbit around the sun and only keeps going because of gravity. If you thought today was a regular day, just stop and think about that information. Today is not a regular day, no day is, every day is amazing. It can’t all be by chance because it’s too perfect. As you breathe in and out right now, thank God that HE kept you alive for one more gorgeous second. HE gave us the gift of involuntary breath, so that we did not have to worry about keeping ourselves alive; we merely do it without prompting. Plus, he populated our planet with trees that give us essential oxygen to breathe, while we expel carbon-dioxide that the trees absorb. HE gives us balance in the world to ensure our survival through our unconscious minds. How can we ever deny the existence of GOD when we can see HIM all around us?
If we took away something as simple as gravity, we would ultimately not be able to sustain life on this or any other planet. Let me explain. I know you are probably thinking the basic, we would be floating right now. Although, let’s look at this further. Our planet stays in orbit around the sun because of its own mass and gravity. The Earth has mass, just like every other solid object does (including you). It is the Earth's mass that causes it to have gravity. Luckily, for us this means that, if we have mass we will always have gravity. Although, if you believe in a chance existence, then you must conclude that there is a chance that gravity could turn off because no one was controlling it. In that case, think about if you spin something around your head on a string, it goes around in a circle until you let go of the string. Then it flies off in a straight line. This is potentially what would happen if the gravity just “turned off” or stopped existing, the earth would go flying off from the sun. Gravity is a fundamental underlying force in the universe. (It sounds to me like GOD is holding on tight to us.)
Additionally, when objects are in orbit around each other, there is a strong pull of gravity between them. For example, we commonly say that the Moon is in orbit around the Earth. However, the Moon pulls back on the Earth as well. This changes the Earth a little. One way we see this happening is the ocean tides. The pulling of the seas toward the Moon not only affects seawater depths along the coasts, but the Earth’s rotation is slowed down by what is called tidal friction. This is the movement of the bulge of tidal water across the oceans and its attraction to the Moon acts as a brake on the Earth’s rotation. If we did not have this give and take with the moon, our earth would spin faster and our length of a day would increase. Perhaps the most important effect of the Moon, is the way it stabilizes our rotation. The Moon keeps the Earth from wobbling violently as it spins. This in turn keep us from tilting on our axis causing climate changes. This single theory of gravity is only one small point to the sustainable living we enjoy in our everyday lives. How can we attribute this to a “by chance” phenomenon, when our environmental existence is this complex?
As I fact checked all this scientific language, I could not help but be overwhelmed by the passage of GOD holding us in the palm of HIS hand, as proven truth in my above paragraphs. (Isaiah 41:13) If we open our minds slightly GOD gives us a glimpse into HIS wonder. This shows us proof to the transcendence of HIS being; that even when we do not understand how it is all possible, HE opens the door and shows us HIS love has been there since the beginning. He designed and labors to keep the universe moving with our continuation of life at the core. HE loves us this much! I challenge you to look around and open your eyes as you walk out into the world today. As the wind touches your face, choose to look at the world through GOD’s eyes, and you will see the secrets of the world are no longer secrets, they are simply GOD standing right in front of you showing you how much HE loves you.
