September 12 happens to be one of the most unique events the Museum of the Bible hosts all year.”
This year's featured event is called: ’Engaging with the History of Bible Translations’ It will be led by Tim Wildsmith, who many of you probably know from YouTube and from his work reviewing and explaining Bible translations. He's become one of the most trusted voices helping everyday Christians understand why there are so many English Bibles and how they came to us.
During the afternoon we'll experience:
Two teaching sessions
A guided museum tour
Rare Bible artifacts
Historic English Bibles
Behind-the-scenes explanations of Bible translation
One of the coolest parts is that after the first session, Tim actually leads a guided tour through the museum's History of the Bible floor, where you'll see many of the original Bibles and artifacts he talks about in his presentation.
The sessions will answer questions like:
Why are there so many English Bible translations?
What's the diff between word-for-word and thought-for-thought?
Which Bible should I use?
Why do translations sometimes sound different?
The goal isn't to sho you one translation is "the only right one."
The goal is to help you appreciate how God has preserved His Word throughout history and to better understand the Bible sitting in your lap today.
This Is Bigger Than One Seminar
"The seminar itself lasts from about 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM, and your event ticket also includes admission to the Museum of the Bible.
The museum itself is incredible. You can spend hours exploring:
Ancient manuscripts

How the Bible has impacted cultures around the world
